As Georgia works to diversify its export markets, strong ally Ukraine stands ready to liberalize trade links between the two states, according to the newspaper 24 Saati.
Talks on simplifying custom regulations, border entries and eliminating quota systems are all underway, the newspaper reports.
Head of the transport department Irakli Taktakishvili says streamlining cargo procedures will benefit both sides, but particularly will help Georgia increase exports to wealthier Ukraine.
Georgia has taken similar steps with Armenia and Ukraine.
