Member states of the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Moldova) are relying too much on instructions and recommendations from the US, editor-in-chief of the news agency Regnum Vigen Akopyan said on February 28.
Akopyan said member states are lacking their own ideas and must take the initiative if they hope to achieve success. He added that while GUAM has so far failed to oversee the creation of an East-West energy corridor, future development on this project should not be ruled out.
The US proposed the project to GUAM as a transportation corridor that bypasses both Russia and Iran.
