Russia was reaffirmed as Armenia’s main trading partner in 2007, with trade turnover increasing 60 percent to reach USD 623.7 million and Russian investment totaling USD 800 million, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The Russian-Armenian partnership developed in all fields in 2007 due to interparliamentary contacts and ministerial visits,” a statement from the Foreign Ministry reads, according to the news agency Regnum.
The statement also notes the completion of projects such as the Yerevan Plaza trade and entertainment center that opened in Moscow and the House of Moscow that opened in Yerevan, as an indication of strengthening bilateral ties.
