Young Georgians are keen to go in search of jobs abroad, and Azerbaijan appears to be increasing its appeal to unemployed youth alongside the traditionally popular destinations of Turkey, Greece, US, UK and Germany.

“Georgian labor migrants work in the construction sphere where they are better paid—salaries in Azerbaijan are 60–80 percent more than in Georgia,” head of the IMS employment agency Irakli Jalalishvili says, according to the newspaper Akhali Taoba.

Employment agencies in Georgia are having a tough time finding both client companies and candidates for recruitment, despite the government’s high profile attempt to decrease unemployment with a state-funded apprenticeship scheme, the newspaper Rezonansi writes.
