Turkey makes USD 1.5 billion from Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan

The total amount of crude oil to have passed through the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline reached 333 million barrels by the end of March, generating some USD 1.5 billion revenue for Turkey, according to a representative of Botas, the Turkish state oil company.
He also said that the daily transit amount in the first quarter of 2008 reached 750 000 barrels per day, which is expected to rise to 840 000 by the end of the year.
British energy company BP says that Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan together stand to make over USD 150 billion transit fees and royalties from the pipeline between 2005 and 2024, according to British newspaper The Guardian.
