The Ukrainian government has approved an agreement with Tbilisi on preparation work for a new ferry link between Kerch port in Ukraine and the Georgian ports of Poti and Batumi, Ukrainian Transport Minister Yosyp Vinskyi said.
There will be feasibility study of the ferry link, which will have the capacity to take rail carriages across the Black Sea, according to the newspaper Akhali Versia.
Ukrainian company Ukrferry completed construction work on a new ferry terminal in Kerch last year, and a Kerch–Poti connection opened in October, however its functioning has been hindered by bureaucratic problems.
