Georgia up twenty places in corruption perception index

Georgia ranks 79th in the 2007 Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index, up 20 places on the previous year.
The index ranks countries according to the perceived level of corruption among politicians and officials. Georgia ranked the highest of all South Caucasus countries, with Armenia placed 99 and Azerbaijan at 150. Russia came in at 143.
Georgia scored 3.4 on a scale of 0 to 10, with 10 being the least corrupt. Denmark, Finland and New Zealand topped the list.
