Kazakhstan is planning improvements to its oil transit system in order to supply the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline, Kazakh Energy Minister Sauat Mynbayev has said.
A pipeline will be constructed between Eskene and the port of Kurik in Kazakhstan, and seven oil tankers will be built with the capacity to take 35 million tons of oil across the Caspian Sea annually.
“The most significant aspect of the new transport corridor will be organizing high tonnage transportation on the Caspian Sea,” the news agency Regnum quoted Mynbayev as saying.
