War Damages Agriculture

As war spreads around Tskhinvali agricultural production is being severely damaged. Wheat fields, fruit trees, orchards and vineyards have been destroyed or burned. Farmers are afraid to go out into their fields and work if there is anything left for them to do.
Russian planes have bombed roads as well, thus making transportation difficult, and in some cases almost impossible. The Georgian administration is doing its best to balance the situation and thus prevent price rises and deficiencies of certain products, but is fighting a tough battle.
