Caspian countries negotiating over the Sea’s status

A working group consisting of representatives of the 5 countries in the Caspian Basin, Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, have met in Baku on September 5-6 to determine the legal status of the Caspian Sea.
This was the twenty-third session the group has held. Almost all the details of the draft preamble to the project are confirmed. The next working group meeting is to be held in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.
