The exact extent of Georgia’s economic loss as a result of the recent war has still to be assessed. There are two types of losses: tangible, so-called direct ones, which might equal around USD 2-3 billion, and intangible ones resulting from lost or delayed contracts, unfulfilled liabilities, businessmen refusing to come to or remain in Georgia, the country’s tourist image and so on.
Economic expert Gia Khukhashvili thinks that the calculation of these figures will produce a colossal total.
