Azerbaijan to increase gas supply
Tuesday, September 16
Minister for Energy Alexander Khetaguri has visited Azerbaijan to conduct negotiations with his counterparts on supplying Georgia with extra gas during winter. So far Georgia was receiving 1.5 million cubic metres of natural gas per day from Azerbaijan but in winter gas usage will obviously increase.
In 2007 Georgia received around 1.3 billion cubic metres of Azeri natural gas at a rate of USD 120 per 1,000 cubic metres. From September Azerbaijan will supply Georgia with 7 million cubic metres of gas a day but no price has yet been given.
