Friday, September 26
The Azeri State Oil Company and Russia are negotiating to transport more oil through the Baku-Novorosiisk pipeline, increasing the amount to 5 million tonnes annually.
The President of Azeri State Oil Company company commented that during the military operations in Georgia Azeri Chirag–Giunsheli oil was redirected through the Novorosiisk pipeline but now the situation has stabilized it has gone back to using the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) route.
The Baku-Novorosiisk pipeline only receives oil from the Azeri State Oil Company. It began functioning in 1997, and in 2007 pumped 2.229 million tonnes of oil.
