BTC University to be established

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) University will be opened in Turkey near the city of Adana. It will prepare chemical and oil industry specialists for Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia. All three countries will finance the University, which will later impart to students in additional marine and antiterrorist skills.
The BTC oil pipeline was opened in 2006. 443 km of it is in Azerbaijan, 249 km in Georgia and 1076 km in Turkey. The transportation capacity of this pipeline is 1 million barrels a day. The BTC shareholders are: BP – 30.1 %, AzBTC -25% , Chevron -8.9 %, Statoil-8.71%, TPAO-6.53%, ENI -5%, Total-5%, Itochu-3.4%, INPEX-2.5%, ConocoPhilips2.5% and Amerada Hess-2.36%.
