The Azerbaijan Security Ministry has managed to prevent the subversive detonation of the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline by a group of Azeri citizens of a radical religious orientation.
The group is headed by Azer Misirkhanov, who has the nickname Abdula, and has taken part in fighting in different conflict zones. The group has close contacts with international terrorist organizations, and planned to create terrorist cells which would conduct subversive actions to destabilize the social and political situation in the country.
