EU supports all energy supply projects in principle

The Chairman of the EU Commission, Jose Manuel Barosso, stated at a recent meeting with Russian Prime Minister Putin that the EU has never opposed any type of energy supply system, whether they be south stream or north stream. Barosso explained the EU position very simply: it supports the diversification of energy supplies.

Both the abovementioned projects are commercial ones. The same approach is applied to the NABUCCO project, which does not contradict these.
