Dialogue is necessary in Russian-Georgian relations
Akhali Taoba writes that former Georgian Ambassador to Russia Erosi Kitsmarishvili thinks that it is time to start dialogue between Russia and Georgia. Kitsmarishvili told Russian news agency Itar-Tass that it is well realized by people either in Moscow or Tbilisi that normalizing relations between two countries is necessary.
“I understand that the Russian and Georgian authorities will have difficulties in making contact due to private reasons, but time should not be lost, and it is possible to restart dialogue with help of experts and society representatives,” he said.
Kitsmarishvili said that at a time when the US and Russia’s relations had started to normalize, and Russia was also seeking to normalize its relations with NATO, Georgia and Russia also should pay heed about their relations. Kitsmarishvili said this issue is being addressed by his NGO ‘2020.’
Opposition politicians should respect each other -Tsiskarishvili
In an interview with Mteli Kvira political analyst Soso Tsiskarishvili has said that today’s opposition is not much different to last year’s and that they should be respectful towards each other so that they do not lose sight of their main goal.
“The President’s claim that politicians in Georgia have a lot of money, which comes from different sources but not for good reasons, demonstrates that the President has gained such information from his team and these conclusions can be drawn from it. It is a sort of appeal to the new President of the National Bank of Georgia to strengthen the monitoring of bank accounts and a warning to businessmen that if they decide to support any political parties they should not have mistakes in their accounts” Tsiskarishvili said.
Imprisoned women receiving professional training
Akhali Taoba reports that women prisoners are studying various professions. A business school has been opened where the prisoners are learning how to be bar staff, beauticians and cooks. The courses are taught by professionals and on finishing them the women will be awarded certificates.
“These women are studying different professions, and this will help society become more secure,” Minister of Probation Dimitri Shashkin said.
The programme is being carried out by the Woman and Prisoner Association with the financial support of international organizations.
