Russian political analyst Saadat Kadirova has suggested that Russia has good prospects to develop its cooperation with Azerbaijan as this country is the strongest of the South Caucasus states.
Azerbaijan has huge natural resources so Kadirova thinks that Russia should choose Azerbaijan as its priority ally. Last summer’s events showed that Georgia is lost to Russia. Armenia has its own problems and it is only verbally supporting Russia, so Azerbaijan is the only regional option left, thinks Kadirova.
Azeri political analyst Mubariz Akhmedoglu has also stated that Russian-Azeri relations have good prospects of development.
