Details of the plan to construct the Yerevan-Batumi motorway were discussed during the recent visit to Georgia of Armenian Economy Minister Nerses Eritsian. Building the motorway will facilitate an increase in trade turnover between the two countries and promote tourism and the welfare of the population through the development of infrastructure around the motorway.
A special group has been appointed to improve the work of customs checkpoints on the Georgian-Armenian border. The motorway will be around 450 km long and will meet world and European standards.
