Armenia’s foreign trade still Russian-dominated

In January-June of 2009 Armenia’s foreign trade turnover decreased by 31.5% compared with the same period last year and reached USD 1. 65 billion. Of this, exports amounted to USD 281.4 million and imports USD 1. 369 billion.
33.4% of Armenia’s trade turnover is with CIS countries and 30.2% with EU countries. The major trade partner of Armenia is still Russia, which accounts for 23.7% of total Armenian trade turnover, around USD 393 million. Armenia’s exported USD 41 million of goods to Russia and imported USD 352 million from there.
