Book launch
Tuesday, December 1
The launch of two books by Revaz Gachechiladze, The Middle East and My Twentieth Century was held last Saturday. Professor Revaz Gachechiladze is a prominent scholar and diplomat. He has been Georgia’s Ambassador to Israel and Armenia. He is the author of several dozen books and hundreds of articles and an honorary member of the UK's Royal Geographical Society, member of Georgian Academy of Sciences.
His two new books present a vivid picture of Georgia in the 20th century and its place in the South Caucasus and the neighbouring Middle East. These books provide in many cases absolutely original views of Georgia's place in the geopolitical turmoil in the Middle East and South Caucasus in the 20th century.
The audience gave high evaluations to the works, highlighting their importance for those who study the issues concerned as a student or a general reader. It was suggested that they be translated into English to make them accessible to a wider range of people.
