Problems for Georgian fruit

Agricultural land in Georgia provides Georgian farmers with the chance to grow fruit. Most farmers produce more than their families need and sell the excess production. However most farmers also have problems with managing their businesses. They have no experience of budgeting, no transportation means and no established system of selling their products and other small but important issues are also hindering farmers from being successful in their work.

Enough is produced in Georgia to satisfy local demand, therefore the farmers have problems accessing new markets. The State is not much interested in either exporting fruit or processing it. The farmers lack experience in preparing fruit for transportation, or storing, preserving it and so on, and the capacity of processing factories also needs to be improved.
