Azerbaijan and Turkey have achieved agreement on the price of the Azeri natural gas which is currently being extracted but no agreement has been reached on the price of the gas yet to be produced. Therefore a final agreement is not yet available, stated Rovnag Abdullaev, head of the Azeri state oil Company SOCAR. In the current circumstances agreement on one side without agreement on the other means no agreement at all.
US Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Issues Richard Morningstar stated recently that further disputes over the natural gas price between Turkey and Azerbaijan will affect the viability of the Southern Corridor programme.
