Lithuania will not use the term 'Georgia' instead of 'Gruzia'
Rezonansi reports that Lithuania's State Committee for the Lithuanian Language has considered an appeal from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and can see neither a juridical nor a scientific basis for changing the name of this country from 'Gruzia' to 'Georgia' in the Lithuanian language, its head Regina Dobelene has stated.
At the beginning of December 2009 Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze asked his Lithuanian counterpart to consider using Georgia instead of Gruzia in the Lithuanian language. He based his argument on the assertion that Georgia is the historic native name of the country and Gruzia a Slavic rendering.
Pikria Chikhradze: Targamadze has a close relationship with Giorgadze
Rezonansi writes that according to the Alliance for Georgia's Pikria Chikhradze the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Security, Givi Targamadze, has recently formed a close relationship with former Minister of Security Igor Giorgadze, who is a wanted man in Georgia. The Alliance is working on this and when it has the full information will bring an accusation against Targamadze.
“As you know we only publish material confirmed by documents. We do not possess exact information about the relationship between Targamadze and Giorgadze and therefore although according to my information they have recently developed very close relations and held meetings. We will tell all to the public when we have found the materials confirming this,” stated Chikhradze.

Rector of the so-called University Aleko Gvaramia has stated, "We hope to train specialists in mathematics, physics, biology, geography and astronomy. Alasania confirms meeting Gachechiladze in London
In an interview with Versia Irakli Alasania, Leader of the Alliance for Georgia, says that: "All the people with whom I have been having meetings abroad tell me that they will not accept election falsification under any circumstances. Such a clear position is new. Today everyone can see that Saakashvili has not kept any of the promises he made at the UN. But the opposition’s activity is also very important. There is a diversity of opinions but powerful political forces are now agreeing that we need normal elections. If we cannot obtain these we will take coordinated steps together with the international community. However I really do not want these elections to become the basis of destabilisation and political crisis,” stated Irakli Alasania.
Asked why he had been making secret journeys with Levan Gachechiladze, and had been seeking finance with him in London, Alasania said: "We really were in London at the same time. I visited America too and then England, and because Levan was there I met him. I confirm this to you, but the second part of your question, about finance, is absolute lies. Levan and I did not have a meeting with any third person. This is all gossip, and I will make complaints against all who have falsely accused me,” Alasania said.
