At the end of 2009 the Georgian administration announced that by tightening belts the administration had managed to save GEL 350 million. Economic analyst Davit Narmania however challenges this, suggesting that GEL 100 million is nearer the mark.
Narmania therefore recommends that Government officials pull their belts even tighter. He adds that there are difficulties in obtaining trustworthy, genuine and prompt information about budgetary issues.
