The National Archive of the Ministry of Justice hosted an exhibition dedicated to the centenary of famous Georgian ballet dancer Vakhtang Chabukiani on March 24. The centenary was included in UNESCO’s official list of events, demonstrating that Chabukiani's heritage is significant for the whole world.
The exhibition included letters and photos from different periods of Chabukiani’s work which enabled visitors to become better acquainted with his life and his importance in the development of Georgian ballet traditions. Clips from Dancing Wizard, a film dedicated to Chabukiani in 1971, were also screened.

Irakli Nasidze, a famous Georgian designer living in France, opened Tbilisi Fashion Week on March 26. The 2010 Spring-Summer and 2011 Autumn-Winter collections of other Georgian, Spanish and French designers were introduced to guests who were wearing famous brand name clothing themselves.
The organisers conducted the event according to international standards so that the first Georgian Fashion Week would satisfy all the demands of the industry and promote its development. The organisers said the event was not only for private but public benefit as it aimed to introduce Georgian fashion to the world market.
A contract signed by Fashion Group, the official organiser of the event, gave Georgian Fashion week the status of an international event. Collaboration with influential musicians such as Mode-F, the partner of world famous fashion houses like Channel, Dior, etc gave the event a special atmosphere.
Fashion TV, Vogue, Elle and other the international media sources publicised Georgian Fashion Week. Models not only from local fashion agencies but Ukraine and France were also present at the event which became an important step in securing Georgia’s engagement with the world fashion market.

An exhibition called Love in Georgian Film opened at the National Museum of Theatre, Music, Cinema and Choreography on March 27. The exhibition presented romantic stills from famous Georgian films which created a really positive environment within the museum. A special pack of love letters was created for the day with photos of loving couples from Georgian films on them.

The Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel, Geocell and Radio Kalaki celebrated Earth Day on March 27 by switching off the lights at the hotel for 60 minutes. Georgia joined different countries of the world in powering down for Earth Hour as part of this global effort to preserve the environment, which was observed in many countries concerned with fighting climate change.

Rustaveli Theatre hosted an exhibition called Shota Rustaveli on the World Stage on the International Day of Theatre on March 27. Posters and placards from the foreign tours of the company were presented at the exhibition. Rustaveli Theatre has put on a large number of plays in different countries and participated in international festivals.

The fund Tanadgoma (Support), established by world famous Georgian baritone Lado Ataneli, held a charity concert marathon at Tbilisi Event Hall on March 27. Georgian mezzo-soprano Nino Surguladze and Mark Heller, the American tenor, participated in the event accompanied by the orchestra of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theatre conducted by Italian maestro Gianluca Marciano.
The guests were given a wonderful opportunity to listen to amazing new interpretations of Carmen by Georges Bizet and Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi. The main aim of the concert was to financially support the musically gifted multi-child family the Kvaliashvilis and promote the development of future generations interested in music.

The Duruji theatre award is among the most serious prizes in the Georgian arts world and bestows GEL 20,000 on the best producer of the year. The Tsiskari Charity Fund opened the contest for best play of 2009-2010 by announcing new rules for the participants. Producers can present their nominations until April 30, 2010. The organisers hope to encourage Georgian theatre production and promote its further developement.

The Traditional Easter Festival which began on April 7 offers a variety of concerts around the country. The festival is a wonderful mixture of the traditional and classical traditions of Georgian art. The event was established on the initiative of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia the Second with the Akaki Ramishvili Fund Tradition and Innovation in 2006. The festival is free, so anyone interested in Georgian traditions and culture can attend concerts from April 7 to April 11 in Tbilisi and in Sachkhere and Akhaltsikhe on April 13.

Sculptures and lithographs by prominent Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dali will be exhibited at Tsinandali Museum from April 7 till the end of May. N Gallery and the Tsinandali Museum received permission to host this exhibition after conducting joint negotiations with Dali’s estate.
