Romania is vitally interested in the diversification of its energy routes into EU countries. Its priorities in this direction are NABUCCO, PEOP and now AGRI, the Romania, Georgia and Azerbaijan interconnection, which will deliver Azeri natural gas in a liquid form via Georgia to Romania.
The Romanian Foreign Minister has stated that there are no obstacles to cooperation between Russia and Romania. Teodor Bakonsky added that none of the possible energy supply projects contradict each other.
On June 16, during the negotiations between Russia's Gazprom and Romania’s Minister of Economy Adrian Vidianu, further cooperation in natural gas delivery was discussed.
