Corruption in Armenia

President of the Gumri Journalists Club Levon Barsegian thinks that there is no means of combating the corruption in Armenia, in which all state structures are now involved. He says that the country has not reached the goodwill level where corruption will be eliminated.

Barsegian states that colour revolutions are not necessary to change things as they are a different means of corruption. He says that instead of the Government taking care of the citizens things work the other way round in Armenia.

Barsegian says that the current leadership has exhausted itself. Artur Sakunz, head of the Banadzor office of the Helsinki Citizens Assembly, says that the whole state system is corrupt and this could trigger repression. He maintains that corruption in Armenia has a systemic character.
