Prospects of new geo strategic moves

On August 19 the Russian city of Sochi will host the leaders of four countries: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Russia. Presumably the issues of railway connections, motorways and electricity transmission lines will be discussed. All these presumably should be connected with Russia's existing infrastructure. There is no intention to create any kind of integrated union. An analyst from the strategic research centre of the Tajik president, Vafo Niatbekov stated that the USA and the EU think more about the idea of uniting certain countries of this region with the added purpose of distancing these countries from Russia and China. Niatbekov thinks today Russia wants to unite these countries into one region to include Russia, India, China, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, to become a new macro region, with the title of the New Middle East. This is why Russia is actively cooperating with different Asian countries in the region.
