Azeri-Russia cooperation

In September 2010, Russian President Medvedev will visit Azerbaijan and several agreements covering different spheres will be signed. As the Russian trade representative in Azerbaijan, Yuri Shedrin reported, trade turnover between the two countries in the first half of 2010 was USD 848 million, which is higher than in the same period last year. Azerbaijan has increased its exports to Russia by 44 percent, reaching USD 360 million. Imports from Russia also increased, reaching USD 488 million. In 2010 Azerbaijan imported less wheat from Russia switching to Kazakh wheat. 85 percent of Azerbaijan's wheat imports comes from Kazakhstan.
