Armenians migrate from Karabakh

Some sources in the north Caucasus claim that there has recently been a noticeable number of Armenians leaving Karabakh for the north Caucasus. This has resulted in a fall in the price of real estate in Nagorno Karabakh and deterioration in the economic conditions. Analyst Oktai Zadikhzade stated that some of the Karabakh population might as well be moving to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, following their declarations of independence. Another reason for the current mini-exodus of the Karabakh population might be the recent increasing level of speculation of a possible resumption of military hostilities in the region. In addition, as the analyst suggests, Yerevan's policy of resettling the Karabakh population who fled the territory during the tensions, has failed.
