Georgia needs 7-10% economic growth

President Saakashvili stated on September 3 that country needs at least 7-10% annual economic growth to develop. According to the President a growth rate of 5% is not enough for the country’s progress. Prime Minister Gilauri stated in August that in the first half of 2010 country’s economic growth reached 6%. In his speech to the parliamentary ruling majority Saakashvili recommended a tightening of the belts stating that it is not absolutely necessary for ministers to fly business class and it is not necessary for them to have so many cars. There should be certain limits on purchasing cars.
