TBC Bank to issue USD 20 mln for hospitals

TBC Bank announced that it is ready to issue a USD 20 mln loan for the construction of hospitals in Georgia. 50% of the loan will be guaranteed by the US government. A special agreement was signed between USAID and TBC Bank for a loan of USD 10 mln, guaranteed by USAID. The money will be used to build new hospitals, renovate old ones and purchase medical equipment. The programme’s aim is to help the Georgian population by providing it with modern high quality medical services. TBC Bank is the only bank in Georgia that has issued loans to finance the healthcare system with the USAID guarantee. This money is part of the USD 1 bln in aid the US is giving to Georgia following the August war.
