Nika Gilauri to Attend World Expo 2010 in Shanghai
24 Hours reports that Georgia’s Prime Minister Nika Gilauri will attend the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, where a 'Georgian National Day' will be held. The Prime Minister will leave for India from China on 30 October to take part in the forum ‘Invest in Georgia’ organized by the Financial Times. Nika Gilauri will deliver a speech at the forum where he will speak about the economic and political development of Georgia. Georgia’s Prime Minister will return home on 2 November.
Rusudan Kervalishvili met with representatives of the organization "Women’s Messages”
Rusudan Kervalishvili, the Deputy Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia held a meeting with representatives of the prominent women’s organization “Women’s Messages”. The organization works on peace and conflict issues, 24 Hours reports.
Kervalishvili discussed with the guests the activities of women’s organizations in Georgia. The parties considered the problems of the IDPs from the occupied territories. The organization conducted several actions in support of Georgia since August war.
Japanese guests expressed hope for cooperation with women’s organizations in Georgia and for taking part in solving the problems of the IDPs. Keti Dolidze, the Head of the organization "White Scarf” attended the meeting as well.
Subari’s brother accused at court
Sozar Subari’s (former Ombudsman) brother, Vakhtang Subeliani faced accusations in court on Wednesday. Subeliani’s lawyer, Irma Chkadua, said that he is accused of producing bogus invoices under article 210 which carries a 7 year prison sentence, 24 Hours reports.
Subeliani exercised his right to remain silent. His Lawyer says that the defendant will give a testimony after becoming acquainted with the case materials. Chkadua says that Vakhtang Subeliani didn’t have any connection with invoices as he was a manager in ‘Amo’ Ltd. Collaborator of ‘Amo’, deputy director of the company Vazha Lekishvili was also accused yesterday. The lawyer confirmed that ‘Amo’ Director Guram Giorgobiani and two accountants were released yesterday. Irma Chkadua reports that apart from ‘Amo’ collaborators, several employees of three companies were accused. The case is being investigated by the Constitutional Security Department.
