Georgian-Polish relations discussed
On November 2, during a meeting between MP Nugzar Tsiklauri, the Chairman of the Committee on Relations with Compatriots Residing Abroad and Davit Gamtsemlidze, the Head of the Georgian Diaspora of Poland, the parties discussed the enhancement of Georgian-Polish relations, Akhali Taoba writes. Tsiklauri mentioned that the Georgian community in Poland is the representative of the Georgian State, which is distinguished by a special activeness and it expresses its view on occupation and aggression, the victim of which our country has become.
According to Gamtsemlidze, Georgia and Poland have established multilateral relations. He stated every year a conference dedicated to Georgian Saint, Doctor of Historical Science and the Professor Grigol Peradze is held at Warsaw State University, in which the Georgian community takes part.
“The Georgian community in Poland is a clear example of how the Embassy, Consulate and Diaspora should cooperate with each other. The example of Poland is proof that such relations raise opportunities for the Georgian state to be represented in the best way in the different countries,” Tsiklauri said
Projects that foster a deepening of Georgian-Polish relations will be considered at a future meeting with Papuna Davitaia, the State Minister for Diaspora Affairs
President’s Administration on spy scandal
The President’s Administration refrains from making any official comment regarding the spy scandal, announced Manana Manjgaladze, spokesperson for the President’s Administration at yesterday’s briefing, 24 hours reports.
Manjgaladze said the President’s Administration will not comment on the issue until further information is known.
Law-enforcers detained 20 Georgian citizens on the charge of spying for Russia a few days ago.
InterpressNews identified four persons – Armen Gevorkian, Ruben Shikoian, Ruslan Galogre and Petre Devrishaddze.
The Ministry of interior Affairs of Georgia has not made any official comment so far.
