Central Asian - Persian Gulf transport corridor

Iran is currently promoting a new energy transport corridor which could connect Central Asia with the Persian Gulf and according to the Iranian authorities create a revolution in the regional transport system. The Tehran Times reported that the leaders of Iran, Turkmenistan, Oman and Uzbekistan are working on this initiative. The Iranian Foreign minister expressed his country’s readiness to help Turkmenistan in transporting energy; the possible collaboration includes constructing railways and motorways.
