“We support the bill of amendments. We think if there is the political will, the bill will indeed regulate the problem,” she said.
The initiative group of media experts and journalists presented the bill of amendments on improvement of the media environment to the Young Lawyers’ Association. The bill envisages transparency of media ownership, financial transparency of media outlets, public availability of information and license problems, while the bill - drafted by the government - envisages only amendments to the law on broadcasting.
Beselia: People will not allow Saakashvili to be PM
In her interview to Alia, opposition member Eka Beselia says that the newly adopted constitution guarantees Saakashvili will move into the post of Prime Minister after his presidential term expires, although he will not be able to do so, as the people have suffered enough from different problems will not allow him to become PM.
“People are living in extremely harsh conditions and I doubt that Saakashvili will be able to satisfy his wish to become PM. A big rally is planned for November 25 there, however I can say that nothing will end on that day, but that it will be beginning of the third decisive wave of protests,” Beselia said. “If there will be massive rally from November 25 the processes will end sooner than we imagine and Saakashvili will not be able to do anything.
