As statistical information is showing, turnover for small and medium businesses in Georgia is at around 15%. Former president of National Bank, and now economist Nodar Javakhishvii thinks that the major reason for this is the fact that banks do not issue loans to start a business. Javakhsivhili thinks that the state also does not facilitate the creation of middle and small businesses in the country. As Bankebi da Finansebi newspaper reports, Georgian commercial banks are not keen on crediting at the start of a business venture. Most of the banks demand business activity history of several months before they issue any credit and this is, of course, very difficult to provide for the beginners.
