The Kazakh ambassador to Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov stated recently that Kazakhstan supports the NABUCCO project but does not have enough gas to participate in the project. So far Kazakhstan does not have extra natural gas. Instead, it buys gas from Uzbekistan to satisfy the needs of its southern regions. Meanwhile, the ambassador stressed that his country is actively cooperating with Azerbaijan on transporting Kazakh oil via Azerbaijan to Georgian Black Sea terminals of Kulevi and Batumi. As Regnum information agency reported some time ago, Kazakhstan rejected an offer to pump oil through Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan because of high tariffs.
