USAID organizes job fair for the Georgian students

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) –supported the Energy Capacity Initiative in hosting a job fair on December 21. The Energy Capacity Initiative grantee Universities – the Georgian Technical University, the International School of Economics at TSU, Akaki Tsereteli State University and Grigol Robakidze University presented their new programmes to private and state companies in the Georgian energy sector.

According to the project officials, the goal of the job fair was to establish relationship between students and companies. “It is very important for the students’ future employment,” Davit Tvalabeishvili of the USAID said in his opening remarks. He noted that one of the main tasks of the project is development of higher education programmes.

In the frames of the project, Georgian Technical University is carrying out a programme in the Energy Demand Side Management Concentration, International School of Economics at TSU – Energy Economics Concentration, Akaki Tsereteli State University – Power Industry Technology and Management Master’s Degree Programme and Grigol Robakidze University is carrying out Energy Management concentration. The program directors from all four universities presented descriptions of the programmes to the audience. Later, the students presented their thesis topics and internship plans. At the end of the event, potential employers from Georgia’s energy sector met the students.
