Hague Court Begins Examining Georgia’s Labor Party Suit
The Hague Court has started the examination concerning Georgia’s Labor Party action, 24 Hours reports. A statement was made by one of the Party leaders, Kakha Dzagania, at a press conference. He said that the Labor Party has received a special note from the Court stating that their action commenced on October 5 and has since been under investigation. The case could lead to Georgia’s President Saakashvili’s criminal charge and imprisonment.
According to Kakha Dzagania, the action consists of 2 chapters and over 20 episodes, revealing Saakashvili’s alleged crimes. Every single accusation is confirmed by relevant documents and audio-video evidence.
Georgian Labor Party officials also declare that they will be periodically informed about the course of the examination, the official Hague letter says.
Opinion Leaders becoming Resource officers for a day
Georgian opinion leaders have substituted Resource officers in Georgia’s schools for a day today. The system has been implemented for students’ safety purposes, 24 Hours reports.
According to the Ministry of Education and Science's statement, several journalists and a popular TV-presenter were willing to act as Resource officers in schools for one day and get acquainted with Resource officers' daily commitments aimed at the safety of students, teachers and other school staff.
Imedi TV journalists Nanuka Jorjoliani, Lasha Kharazishvili and Levan Rostiashvili were acting as Resource officers yesterday.
Rustavi 2 journalists Vano Javakhishvili, Duta Skhirtladze and Diko Jojua visited public school #53.
Nino Tolordava, Nika Molodinashvili and Gia Chanturia from Georgian Public Broadcasting took up similar duties in school #51.
Region TV journalists Tamuna Tushuri,Misha Vardzelashvili and Avto Tughushi were assigned to the 1st Experimental School.
This extraordinary day in school life and in the life of well-known persons proved to be very interesting for everybody. Pleasant surprises were discovered as well. The opinion leaders viewed the Resource officers' commitments as very challenging. To perform the role, one needs to be mobile, careful, just, a competent advisor, a good psychologist and a diplomat.
This action will not be a one-off as other opinion leaders will also become Resource officers for a day in the future.
