Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia
Electronic mass-media has spread information according to which the Tskhinvali proxy regime has adopted a so-called law for the purpose of renaming historical place names on the occupied territory – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.
This development is a logical follow-up to the policy of ethnic cleansing carried out by the Russian Federation on the occupied territories of Georgia, with a view to eliminating any trace of Georgian residence on the occupied territories of Georgia. For this purpose, Russia undertakes such actions not by itself, but uses as a cover proxy regime, which was established by Russia and is under its complete control.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Georgia expresses its strong opposition to the actions of the occupation regimes of the Russian Federation and urges the international community to exert every effort to put an end to another demonstration of the policy of ethnic cleansing by Russia on the occupied territories of Georgia.
