The contribution of agriculture and industry towards the Georgian economy is reducing while other sectors such as tourism and administration are making an increased impact.
In 2003, agriculture and industry comprised 43% of the Georgian economy but today it has been reduced to 27%. Analysts think that under these circumstances, the country is facing serious threats including an increase of inflation, unemployment and the hindering of economic development. Economists think that major sectors need further serious investment and development. The investments should not be directed only towards the banking sector or tourism, but the economy should instead be more diversified.
