The NABUCCO consortium has asked the natural gas provider countries to make certain commitments and sign an agreement with the consortium. Currently, the consortium is trying to achieve agreements with Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Iraqi Kurdistan so as altogether annually 31 bln cubic meters of natural gas will be provided to the pipeline by 2017. Under the circumstances, the most controversial is the Iraq-Kurdistan situation as the Iraqi government ruled out Kurdistan having autonomy to take independent decisions without preliminary conducting negotiations with the central Iraqi government and receiving its consent. So they share the supply proportion and other details are being discussed.
