Turkish tourism revenue

In 2010 Turkey hosted around 28 million foreign tourists, bringing more than USD 20 billion into the country. Tourism is one of the largest sources of revenue for Turkey – the sector is important for the country as it creates new jobs, employing more and more people. According to data for January 2011 the number of visitors to the country has increased by almost 1 million on the previous year. The tourists are from Germany, Iran, Bulgaria and Georgia as well as Great Britain, France and Italy; in addition there is an increase in the number of American holiday makers visiting Turkey.
