The large number of people emigrating from Georgia proves that the situation in the country is pretty dire. Many emigrants support their families from abroad. The figures show that more people enter Georgia than leave but most of the incoming people are not Georgian citizens. Unofficially more Georgians go out and stay abroad than return to the country and money transfers from emigrants sent back to their families in Georgia are higher than FDI into the country. According to unofficial data more Georgians are employed outside the country than inside it.
