Analyst Florian Villerhausen thinks that the construction of the NABUCCO gas pipeline is facing serious problems. According to him, in 2011 Azerbaijan has to decide first that it will supply Europe with natural gas and second that this gas will be transported through NABUCCO. If there is no such decision taken by Azerbaijan, the NABUCCO project will fail. There will be additional supplies of this pipeline from Turkmenistan and Iraq but Azerbaijan should be the main supplier. As it is known, Azerbaijan will give its final decision later this year. So, until this decision has been made, the NABUCCO project will be under threat. So there are still some factors making the NABUCCO project prospects rather vague.
