As businessmen in the Georgian wine industry state, the production and subsequent export of Georgian wine is continuing to increase. In 2009, Georgia produced almost 14 mln bottles of wine and in 2010 almost 16 mln. Today Georgian wines are exported to the USA, certain European countries, into neighboring Armenia and Azerbaijan, Asian countries as well as Hong Kong and Singapore. Of course all CIS countries are importing Georgian wine except Russia.
There are paradoxes worth mentioning concerning the sales of Georgian wine in the USA. Many American consumers are confused as their understanding of Georgia as an American state is still prevailing over the understanding of Georgia as another country.
