BP's Turkish branch officials are challenging the position of the Turkish company 'Botas' who claim that the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline operates inefficiently and is bringing losses to the Turkish company. BP fulfills all its liabilities and commitments concerning the transit of Azeri oil through Turkish territory. Turkey receives tax benefits as well as transit costs as a part of the deal. Botas might be suffering losses as a company but the country is not. BTC is a long term project and all of its participants and players are interested in its success. Meanwhile there is a dispute between BP and Botas concerning tariffs. BP on its side is very much committed to end this dispute as soon as possible for the satisfaction of all participant sides. As it is known, Turkish company Botas claims to have suffered losses of USD 31 mln since 2006.
