How does public assembly plan to change the ruling regime?
Irakli Batiashvili, one of the leaders of Public Assembly, states that in the near future they plan to hold a protest peaceful rally which will be well organised, Rezonansi writes.
“The major method of our struggle is civil resistance. Each tactic, method or form will be used which is characteristic of civil resistance. The major goal will be the resignation of Saakashvili and dismantling the current regime. Finally, there should be held democratic and fair elections in Georgia. Unfortunately this is not possible for now when Saakashvili, Merabishvili jointly with their team members control the elections process,” Batiashvili said.
People in Georgia live in poverty that they have never before endured and it is impossible to bear. The power which people are waiting for is the Public Assembly on which they can rely. Saakashvili is afraid of us,” he said adding that there is a feeling of protest among the population which will be released soon.
